About JoMamma
I’m Heather Jo, aka JoMamma, and I created this website as a way to find and cook my favorite recipes without messy ads and long stories making them difficult to follow. Each recipe is designed to be like a simple page in a cookbook or an old-fashioned recipe card.
I didn’t grow up cooking. For years it was mostly takeout and whatever was fastest. A couple of years ago that changed, and I taught myself in the kitchen mostly by working through recipes step by step, figuring out what actually works and what doesn’t. This site is where all that trial and error landed.
Cooking for a household of six means recipes have to actually work, not just look good in a photo. Nothing fancy, nothing that requires a special trip to a gourmet store, just real food that gets on the table and gets eaten.
Around here, flavor comes first. Bold seasoning, a genuine love of hot sauce, and a soft spot for real comfort food. Every recipe on this site has been made, tweaked, and made again in my own kitchen until my family actually asks for it on repeat, not just once.
Most recipes include estimated calories and macros, because some people like having that info handy. But it’s there if you want it, not the point of the site. Swap skim milk for whole, light spread for real butter, whatever works for you. These recipes are meant to be flexible, forgiving, and enjoyed your way.
